Le Tour de U.S. 2014 | Day 14

July 17, 2014

We woke a little earlier this morning. Took in a lack luster contie and went to the grocery store for food for the day. We had been told that there are no services between Libby and Eureka. We took and break at the Libby Dam. We ran into a lot of other riders there, A couple recumbent cyclists that are riding in a group called Spokes for Strokes. We also found out that there is a rest stop not more that 10 miles ahead on the road at a marina. We decided to take a break there and I was able to get some insurance stuff done for Alison while waiting for food. We continued on and didn't take another break until after the Koocanusa Bridge. We had some really nice tail winds in the area and we arrived at the motel around 3:20. WiFi is only available at the Subway which is also where we had to check in at. It's also a gas station and motel. I met a really friendly guy named Herald Kane who lives in the Crows nest pass. Had a long chat with him in the parking lot and he came back to the room and chatted with the guys as well. He seems to have had a lot of adventures of his own and he was really interested in ours. Today was Jim's last day with us. He is heading north tomorrow and it will be sad to see him go.
