Rest Day in Fargo

We are having a real day off in Fargo today. Bike shop, laundry and eating. Will elaborate as need be. Conti breakie to start and when we return to the room Francois informs us that he will most likely not be joining us for the remainder of the trip. He said he would take the rest of the day to come to a final decision. It was a bit of a shock to me even though I knew he was shaken up from the fall. Physically he is okay, a bit bruised here and there, but as he said, he's done it before, he's not doing it for charity, so if his heart is not in it anymore there is no point continuing on. I will miss riding with him. I have ridden more kms with Francois than anyone else combined. His interesting sense of humor, voice of reason and invaluable cycling experience will make his absence hard to bare. Carl is also leaving the group but this did not come as a surprise. He has been stretched financially since the get go and he will be riding with us to the Minneapolis area, then busing back. Thank goodness I have my friend Bolze here otherwise I would be going back with Francois or jumping on a bus to join Alison and the girls. After Francois let us know his plans, we all rode downtown to check out Fargo. All we knew of this city was that it was the name of a great movie in the 90's and the locals have a great accent. We found a bike shop where I bought 3 tubes and a spare tire. Francois had some work done on his bike which made me think he had not made up his mind yet. We grabbed a coffee, then I got a hair cut a a neat barber shops that gives a free neck massage with each cut. Fantastic! We were told that a good lunch spot nearby was The Wurst, which sells a variety of bratwurst sandwiches. Trevor was most adventurous by getting an alligator brat. He said it was good. Then we walked the main street and eventually made our way back to the bike shop. Francois' bike was ready and we rode back to the motel. Bolze and I went for a walk to discuss the sitch and to also look for a wood chipper. We are in Fargo after all. During our walk to the Olive Garden for supper Francois let us know that he was definitely going back and he bought his ticket whilst at the restaurant. Supper was fantastic. We are all stuffed to capacity. What a fantastic restaurant. If anyone is waiting for a reason to go to the Olive Garden, you don't need one, just go. Back to the hotel for face time with the ladies.
